R&B star Ne-Yo will give poor youngsters in Las Vegas an early Christmas present - he is to perform a free concert for more than 1,000 youths in the city.

The "Closer" hitmaker will take the mic at a community center in Sin City in an event staged by his non-profit organization, The Compound Foundation.

It aims to help underprivileged kids gain a good education by providing scholarships and post-graduate training.

Ne-Yo will perform for the 2nd Annual Holiday Giving Tour at the Doolittle Community Center on Monday, December 8.
